A hinged tin box with a latch and handle is a format to review when your packaging needs to open repeatedly and be carried as a set. For a custom order, start with the packed product and how the customer will use the box. A photograph is a useful direction; a drawing and physical sample define the order.
Choose the format around the contents
This guide builds on Seven YE’s LinkedIn note about a Baoyue hinged carry tin and its print options. For your own candy or gift project, specify the inner wrappers, compartments or tray as part of the brief. Review usable space with those components included, rather than relying on the outside dimensions alone.
Check the hinge, clasp and handle together
- Hinge: open the filled sample and check lid clearance, alignment and movement.
- Clasp: check how it engages and releases, and agree the acceptable closing feel.
- Handle: state the expected filled weight and how the box will be carried. Review the attachment and any agreed handling checks.
- Inner layout: check whether items stay positioned when the sample is carried and opened.
Keep the approved sample and drawing as the reference for production. Ask the factory to confirm what can use an existing mold and which requested changes need further tooling review.
Prepare artwork for the selected structure
Mark the lid, body and any inside print areas on the supplied artwork layout. Keep critical lettering clear of bends, hinges and hardware positions. Review color, finish and artwork placement on the sample; do not assume an interior print is suitable for contact with an unpacked food product.
