Tinplate material reports · Complete supplier documents

Tinplate Material Reports for Custom Packaging.

Open the complete supplier-side tinplate, printing ink and coating reports used when reviewing a custom tin package. Each document must be matched to the actual material system, contact surface, end use and destination market.

Important boundary

Every result is sample-specific. A supplier report supports material selection; it does not certify every finished Baoyue tin. Baoyue tin packaging is not suitable for direct liquid contact.

Full document library

Open the report, then match the sample.

The PDFs below are complete third-party documents, not cropped screenshots. Supplier and laboratory names, report numbers, sample descriptions and dates remain visible so a buyer can verify the evidence and its limits.

How to use these files

Start with the material layer, open the relevant standard, and confirm that the named sample matches the production specification. A passing supplier sample is not blanket certification for every finished tin.

How to read the evidence

Three layers must stay separate.

Procurement teams get a more useful answer when the base metal, decoration system and finished packaging specification are reviewed as separate evidence layers.

01 · Base metal

Electrolytic tinplate

The available 2024 supplier report concerns a submitted electrolytic tinplate sample. Its RoHS chemical, REACH Article 33(1) and EU Waste Framework Directive results cannot automatically be transferred to another grade or supplier batch.

02 · Decoration system

Printing ink and coating

The 2025 reports concern named mixed ink or coating samples and selected printed templates. The series, color, varnish, curing route and contact surface must match the production specification before a report is treated as relevant.

03 · Finished pack

Project validation

Seams, lid, insert, liner, inner bag, packed product, filling process and market rules belong to the complete package. They require project-specific review and, where applicable, finished-package testing.

2024 reportElectrolytic tinplateTwo submitted pieces of China-origin electrolytic tinplate.RoHS chemical test: pass. REACH Article 33(1): pass. EU Waste Framework Directive SCIP-related requirement: pass. Phthalate content was recorded as not applicable.Useful for reviewing that named tinplate sample. It is not a food-contact report and does not cover ink, coating, seams or the finished tin.
2025 reportsMixed coating systemsNamed mixed coating samples, a selected printed coating template and a golden-varnish sample.Reports include packaging heavy metals under Directive 94/62/EC, EN 71-3 migration of certain elements, REACH SVHC screening, RoHS, a selective PFAS panel and Bisphenol A screening. Separate samples include FDA 21 CFR 175.300 extractives and GB 4806.10 test scope.Relevant only when the coating series, substrate, cure, contact surface and intended conditions match. One passing sample does not make all coatings or finished tins food-contact compliant.
2025 reportsPlanographic printing inkA mixed sample covering named printing-ink series.Reports include Directive 94/62/EC packaging heavy metals, selective PFAS content, REACH Article 33(1), RoHS restricted substances, VOC content and EN 71-9 primary aromatic amines. The tested mixed sample recorded packaging-heavy-metal compliance, selected PFAS not detected, REACH requirements met, RoHS substances not detected, VOC at 0.74% against a 3% limit, and primary aromatic amines not detected. EN 71-9 was stated as a reference test.

“Not detected” means below the method detection or reporting limit used in that report; it does not mean absolute zero. Report dates, sample names, methods and the current production bill of materials must be checked together.

Food-contact context

Test conditions matter as much as the standard name.

One 2025 coating-template report records a pass for FDA 21 CFR 175.300 extractives. Its detailed conditions used water and 8% ethanol at 120°F for 24 hours, and n-heptane at 70°F for 30 minutes. The result belongs to that dark-red coating sample and those reported conditions.

A separate 2025 golden-varnish sample records a pass for GB 4806.10-2016 test items including sensory requirements, overall migration, potassium permanganate consumption and heavy metal as lead. That report also names its food simulants, temperatures and contact times.

Those results can support a project discussion, but applicability depends on the actual inside coating, food or primary pack, temperature, duration, filling method, storage and destination market. The buyer or importer should identify the required market rules before specification approval.

Baoyue tin packaging is not suitable for direct liquid contact. A sealed bottle, pouch or other primary container may be reviewed when the tin is used as secondary outer packaging and the complete pack is validated.

Toy and gift projects

A material report is one input, not toy certification.

The selected coating report includes EN 71-3 migration of certain elements for the submitted coating sample. The selected ink report includes EN 71-9 primary aromatic amines, with the report stating that the test was conducted for reference.

Neither report certifies a finished toy, toy storage box or complete toy package. Age grade, accessible surfaces, sharp points and edges, closures, inserts, magnets or locks, packed toy, intended use and destination-market rules remain part of the finished-system assessment.

For a confidential or not-yet-launched project, buyers can send a measured brief without giving Baoyue permission to publish the product, brand or artwork. Website evidence uses material scope and existing Baoyue references rather than confidential customer-case claims.

See the custom toy tin packaging guide for structure and brief requirements, or review tea tin packaging and chocolate and candy tins for dry-product project questions.

Document review workflow

Match evidence before making a claim.

This sequence turns a folder of reports into a usable procurement decision and shows where another test may still be needed.

01 · Define use

Identify the real contact system

State the packed product, direct-contact surface, inner bag or tray, filling and storage conditions, destination market and any customer standard.

02 · Match materials

Lock the bill of materials

Confirm tinplate source and grade, inside and outside coatings, ink series, varnish, insert material and curing route against the available documents.

03 · Close the gap

Approve or test the final system

Request current full reports, identify missing scope, sample the real specification and arrange project-specific testing when supplier documentation alone is insufficient.

Practical questions

Before a compliance statement is used.

These answers keep supplier documentation, finished-package requirements and buyer responsibility clearly separated.

Do these reports certify every finished Baoyue tin?

No. The reports relate to named samples, material systems, test methods and dates. A finished package must be reviewed against its actual tinplate, coating, ink, components, end use and destination market.

Can a custom tin package be reviewed for food-contact use?

Selected supplier coating reports include FDA 21 CFR 175.300 extractives and GB 4806.10 test scope, but applicability is not automatic. The actual contact surface, food type, temperature, duration, filling process and market requirements must be confirmed.

Can a Baoyue tin hold liquid directly?

No. Baoyue's tin packaging is not suitable for direct liquid contact. A sealed bottle, pouch or other primary container may be considered when the tin is used as secondary outer packaging.

What should a buyer send for a document review?

Send the product, direct-contact surface, inner pack, intended market, filling and storage conditions, required standard, material specification and project timing. Baoyue can then match the request to available supplier documentation and identify any project-specific testing need.
